Nymisaranyam is an important spiritual destination to vist for all Hindus as well as Prominent Divya Desam for all Sri Vaishnavas. Now this place has become an important pilgrimage center in North India. Daily thousands of travelers visit this place. There are several temples in this location and many more are coming up. The tourists visit all these temples and are giving their support in whatever manner possible.
When His Holiness Srimad 43rd Azhagiyasingar visited Nymisaranyam in 1957 it was an evening and becoming dark. He located a building wherein it is mentioned that "Place of Sri Ahobila Mutt Swami's disciple" and directed the sishyas to check the details in the next morning. His Holiness fell ill in the same night and he attained Acharyan feet in the next few days without recovering from his illness. His successor His Holiness Srimad 44th Azhagiyasingar requested place for Brindavanam from the owner of the building Sri Sridharachariar, a North Indian disciple of Sri Ahobila Mutt. Sri Sridhachariar happily gave the entire land, building and the idol of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha (which he has brought from Ahobilam carrying on his head personally all the way to Nymisaranyam) to Sri Ahobila Mutt and dedicated them as a service to the Acharyas. The transfer of land formalities were immediately completed and the copies of title deeds were handed over to the possession of Sri Ahobila Mutt.
His Holiness Srimad 44th Azhagiyasingar immediately constructed a beautiful Brindavanam for 43rd Azhagiyasingar, with a few rooms for the visitors and made arrangements for Nitya aradhanam. Thus came the Nymisaranyam branch of Sri Ahobila Mutt with the above Lakshmi Narasimha idol kept in a room and a Brindavanam. His Holiness made efforts to build a temple for Lakshmi Narasimha at this place and raised funds to the tune of more than one lac. However, the venture could not materialize then.
His Holiness Srimad 45th Azhagiyasingar celebrated the Centenary of Srimad Devanarvilagam Azhagiyasingar in a grand manner and renovated the Mutt premises in 2001 by constructing more rooms, separate wash rooms and an Ashramam. He also set up a separate Trust called "Nymisaranyam Azhagiyasingar Charitable Trust" in 2008 with an aim to construct a big temple and other facilities for the benefit of all pilgrims. This Trust has obtained permanent Income-tax exemption under Section 80G and has been functioning actively since the beginning by conducting annual tirunakshatram of Srimad 43rd Azhagiayasingar in a grand manner with Veda Parayanam and Prabhanda Parayanam for 5 days since 2008 onwards.
